Jerry & Marge Go Large

Unlike the title would suggest, this movie is not about an elderly couple that decided to super-size their meal at McDonald’s, it’s actually about playing the lottery.

Brian Cranston plays Jerry, a recent retiree that finds a flaw in the state lottery system and essentially doubles his money every three weeks. That sounds great. The only way I’ve ever been able to double my money is by ripping it in half. The highlight of this movie is by far Brian Cranston. The guy could play a tree and would deserve any Emmy. Seeing Cranston in action and the fact that this movie is based on a true story is definitely the appeal of this film.

That’s right, the film is based on a true story, unlike the story about the chimpanzees overpowering me at the petting zoo I worked at that summer. That was just a rumor. There’s absolutely no truth to the idea that one of them managed to get my wallet and stole my identity for six months! I assure you.

In the end, this is a feel good movie that kept my attention throughout. It’s not groundbreaking cinema but I found myself smiling and interested in the outcome. I’d say you can wait for streaming, but I highly encourage giving it a watch. You can find it exclusively on Paramount +. On an unrelated note, if anyone knows how to get their credit score back up because they’re still paying off a 1600 square foot treehouse and a banana farm erroneously purchased using my credit card, let me know.

🛶= wait for streaming
