Prey
Let me start by saying the predator did not skip ab day. I haven’t seen a six pack look that good since my last AA meeting. What I’m trying to say here is, this thing is intimidating! To see it take on the explorers and Natives of the Great Northern Plains and to be set in the year 1719 was such a brilliant idea! Fans of The Predator series will like this.
The movie is also beautifully shot. I completely suspend disbelief and believe I’m watching something occurring in the 1700s, and forget that on the other side of the camera is probably an entire movie crew standing around playing Candy Crush on their iPhones or eating Arby’s. The director, the sound, the acting, everything does an amazing job pulling you into that world.
Based on everything mentioned above I’m proudly giving this movie our “Go to theater to see” rating. Yes, I realize that’s not an option as this film is only available through streaming on Hulu. This is the first time we’ve faced this particular problem here at A Movie Review Website, where our rating system doesn’t match the reality of where the movie is available.
Unlike the time my alibi didn’t “match the physical evidence”, this dilemma is easy to explain. Our rating system is meant to capture the essence of the movie and to let you know how we felt about it in simple terms. It’s meant to provide you a suggestive bullet point on how we would want to experience the film that we are reviewing. Therefore, I stand by my rating and if anyone asks, I also stand by my alibi. I don’t even own a Hamburglar costume or a grappling hook…anymore.
My Rating:
🍿= Go to the theater to see
