Your Place or Mine
I know what you’re thinking. The last three movies I reviewed have been romantic comedies, did I just go through a break up or something? Pifff…no…she just thinks we should see other people that’s all. Seems unorthodox, but I guess these are different times. Anyways, let’s talk about this new Netflix original starring Ashton Kutcher and Reese Witherspoon.
Overall I enjoyed this movie. There weren’t a lot of laugh out loud moments, but it definitely kept my attention and I was interested in seeing the outcome. The movie revolves around two best friends of the opposite sex that switch houses for a week and get to learn more about the other and they begin to wonder if their relationship is more than just a friendship. You know what’s interesting? The last time I switched houses with someone for a week, I got an extra 30 days for free due to eviction laws/squatter’s rights.
In conclusion, this gets our “wait for streaming” rating even though we did enjoy it. I thought it broke the mold as a cliche romcom, as the two leads spend nearly the entire movie apart. So if you’re looking for a love story that’s a little different, give this one a go. And seriously, don’t worry about me. I’m not watching romcoms alone…Ben & Jerry were here with me.
