Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness

Watching the Dr. Strange sequel is a lot like an after-hours office party. It can be fun, but you’re more interested in seeing who shows up (As long as it’s not Janice from HR. Ugh, I hate Janice from HR. She’s always reminding me about company policy and how pants are “required in a professional setting”). I feel like Director Sam Raimi did a great job on selecting who showed up and delivered on some really great cameos.

I also enjoyed the movie as a whole. The acting by all the leads was great and the special effects were incredible. However, with all the different multiverses and traveling between them, this was probably the trippiest Marvel movie yet. One second you think you’re a cartoon, the next you’re seeing a bloody Elizabeth Olsen crawl out of your wall. I didn’t live through the 60s, but I imagine this is what an LSD trip is like. Hopefully multiverse jumping doesn’t show up in a urine analysis. That shrew Janice would have a field day with that.

In conclusion, I waited for streaming on this one and didn’t feel like I missed out on anything by not seeing it in theaters. I wish it had connected to the bigger picture of the next phase of Marvel storytelling, but regardless, Marvel fans are going to want to see it. What you don’t want to see is yet another notice in your inbox from that tyrannical she-devil named Janice in HR reminding you that you can’t take office furniture home. Can you believe her?? I swear, this is the last time I’ll work with my wife.

🛶= wait for streaming
