Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
Do you want a soundtrack that has a great movie? Then Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 might be for you. Look, this thing is strange. There are animals with robotic arms, and part of it looks like it was filmed in the small intestines. However, it’s fun entertainment that will keep you laughing, crying or singing the whole way through. Seriously, there were so many hit songs, I kept waiting for Casey Kasem to come out and thank me for listening to the Top 40 Countdown.
One of the things I particularly liked about this movie was that the plot didn’t revolve around saving the world, instead it was about saving a friend. With the end of the world plots, you typically know the good guys are going to save the day. With save your friend plots, you just never know which way it’ll go. Just ask my buddy Carl (if you can find him).
But in the end, we’re giving this our “Go to the theater to see” rating, with the caveat that you have to be the type to appreciate weird sci-fi. Even if you feel full from all your Marvel consumption in recent years, this movie stands on its own. And parents and PETA members be advised, it’s got some parts that are kind of heavy to watch. So with all this in mind, head to your local theater and enjoy the show, and enjoy the music. I’m Casey Kasem. Thanks for listening.
(Note: if you’re under 30 replace Casey Kasem with Ryan Seacrest and reread.)
