No Hard Feelings

No this movie is not about the reason my grandfather started taking Viagra. No Hard Feelings is actually a new film starring Jennifer Lawrence, and in this reviewer’s opinion, it strikes a great balance between raunchy and romantic comedy. Raun-rom com?

In this movie, Jennifer Lawrence’s character is offered a new (used) car if she’ll “date” the shy nineteen year old son of a wealthy couple. Hijinks and drama ensue, creating a simple modern day comedy. Something I find quite refreshing in the world of huge blockbuster releases that rely heavily on spectacle and computer graphics. In fact, one of my favorite parts of the movie features a stripped back piano version of Maneater, performed by the male lead. Not only did he tickle the ivory, he tickled our heartstrings.

In conclusion, we’re giving this our “rent it” rating. It’ll be on streaming soon but I paid for the rental and don’t regret it. And some things are worth paying for. Just ask my grandfather.
