Chip n’ Dale Rescue Rangers

When I asked my wife if she wanted to watch a Chip n’ Dale movie, I think she was disappointed to find out I was referring to the chipmunks. I, on the other hand, was not. This movie was a big bowl of nostalgia soup and I brought the biggest spoon I could find!

Not only was it great to see The Rescue Rangers back in action, but the movie was littered with a ton of animated cameos throughout the film! And I must say, the effects team did a seamless job blending animated characters into live action video. The movie had a Who Framed Roger Rabbit feel to it, if Roger Rabbit was made with modern technology.

Those who didn’t grow up watching the original series, or young kids, may not share the same passion for this as the rest of us. Even though it’s completely family friendly, the humor in the movie comes mainly from taking on an E True Hollywood Story biopic tone on the topic of animated chipmunk actors, one of which wears a Hawaiian shirt, which is cleverly hilarious.

Even though going to the theater is not an option, I’d still rate this one a wait for streaming since the appeal is primarily nostalgia, but it was so much fun to watch. Fans of Chip n’ Dale will love it…unless you were expecting muscle-arm men in partial tuxedos dancing for cougars, then this is not the Chip n’ Dale you are looking for. Try Vegas.
