Bullet Train

It’s a proven fact that everything seems cooler with the 80’s song “Holding Out for a Hero” playing in the background. Try opening a jar of peanut butter with that playing at full volume. It’s epic. Now imagine two men fighting with samurai swords on a speeding train with that song blasting in Japanese and that is what you have here! Smoke ‘em if you got ‘em.

The appeal of this movie is the clever banter, the creative construction of the same story told from multiple points of view and the stylistic action sequences. Not to mention the cast. This thing has more star power than Orien’s Belt.

If I had to award it any negatives, it would be that once you know how all the stories are connected it loses “rewatch” value. But if you’re looking for a one time watch, Bullet Train may be your ticket. Was that a train pun?

In the end, we’re giving this our “Go to the theater to see” rating. Go in with an open mind, suspend disbelief, and have some fun with assassins. Now there’s a phrase I haven’t said in a while. Anyways…enjoy the show!
