Morbius
Vampire bats weren’t the only thing that sucked in this film. Although I applaud Director Daniel Espinosa’s attempt to try something different with a unique stylized action, like a pegged-legged pirate in a gymnastics competition, it couldn’t stick the landing.
Another complaint I had was the scoring throughout the film seemed repetitive in almost every scene. It made it feel like the entire movie was one long scene as opposed to a series of sequences that tied together to create a story.
I do appreciate that this character’s origin story is now complete, and the character can now be used in the future in any way that Sony and Marvel see fit. Also, it goes without saying that Jared Leto is an immensely talented actor, but despite this, Morbius just doesn’t hold up against the other big name Marvel movies that we know and love.
In conclusion, you’d be better off watching that pirate on the pommel horse or still rings. Even if he doesn’t stick the landing, the idea of pirate gymnastics would simply be fun to watch.
