Uncharted

Let me start by saying I am unfamiliar with the video game series. It’s one of many things in life that I’m unfamiliar with, just ask my prom date…my point is, I was not comparing this movie to the games in anyway. That being said, I was a little bored.

Tom Holland is by far the best thing about this movie. I could watch him file his taxes and he’d probably come across as charming or entertaining. But the story seemed very rushed, like the writers wanted to push the characters out the door to get them treasure hunting as quickly as possible.

I feel like the budget was spent on exotic locales and elaborate CG action pieces, which were cool to watch don’t get me wrong, but overall the movie felt like The Da Vinci Code meets Fast and the Furious, which is unique combination I never thought I’d see.

In conclusion, you may want to wait for streaming on this one for when you need something mindless but aesthetically entertaining to watch. If you pay to see this one in the theater you may regret your decision, much like my prom date.
