The Contractor
I invited the guy that’s installing my new French doors to watch this movie with me. Him being a contractor, I thought he’d love it. Turns out, it’s about military contractors. I was wondering why more than half way through it I hadn’t seen the Property Brothers yet.
The movie itself wasn’t bad. Not at all painful to watch, it just felt a little cookie cutter all the way through it. It focuses on a Special Forces soldier with money issues that is kicked out of the military, so he has to take on work as a military contractor (even though he doesn’t want to). The problem I have is it doesn’t show him applying for any other jobs. He keeps getting calls from bill collectors and I’m thinking, YOU NEED TO GET A JOB!! Oh no…I sound like my parents.
That aside the movie was well made and overall entertaining. I also enjoyed Chris Pine. Besides a nice Douglas-fir, Chris is actually my favorite of all the Pines.
In conclusion, this gets our wait for streaming rating. The action scenes were smooth, but nothing that can’t be seen on the small screen. Jim, my general contractor, enjoyed it but now he’s requesting I provide him with stealth gear and flash bang grenades. On a side note, I need to talk to him about those French doors. They don’t even speak French.
